The eliminator of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 13. MI have qualified for their third consecutive playoffs while GG have also made it to the top three for the first time. Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants have faced each other six times in the WPL so far with MI coming out victorious on all six occasions. Both teams first met during the inaugural season of the WPL at DY Patil Stadium March 4, 2023 where MI defeated GG by a huge margin of 143 runs. The last encounter was between MI and GG at Brabourne Stadium on March 10 where MI again come out victorious by 9 runs.

The 2023 champions Mumbai Indians are looking in good touch and have finished on the second position in the points table with five wins in eight matches. Mi have shown their consistency across the seasons in WPL and have successfully reached the playoffs for the third consecutive time. Now, Harmanpreet Kaur and her women will be looking to get a big win against Gujarat Giants and enter their second WPL final.
Gujarat Giants on the other hand, have reached the playoffs for the first time after finishing at the bottom of the points table consecutively in 2023 and 2024. Now, GG will not look to slip away the chance to win their maiden WPL title. However they will have to overcome MI challenge as they won’t won a single match against the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side so far.
Nat Sciver-Brunt: Star Mumbai Indians batter Nat Sciver-Brunt is currently the leading run-getter of the ongoing WPL. She has been a consistent scorer for MI throughout the season with 416 runs at an average of 69.33 and will play a crucial role in the eliminator against Gujarat Giants
Amelia Kerr: Star leg spinners Amelia Kerr has played a crucial part for Mumbai Indians to get into the playoffs. She is currently the leading wicket-taker of the season with 14 scalps. Her contribution will be crucial if MI defeats GG in the upcoming match to get into the final.
Harleen Deol: Harleen Deol has played a crucial role in Gujarat Giants’ middle-order with her 30s and 40s throughout the season. She provided strength to GG batting order and will be played to look out for in the eliminator against Mumbai Indians.
Ashleigh Gardner: Off-spinner Ashleigh Gardner will be a player to look out for Gujarat Giants in the eliminator against Mumbai Indians. She has been an effective bowler in the middle overs and restricted the batters to hit big shots.

Meghna Singh: Gujarat Giants bowler Meghna Singh also didn’t have a memorable tournament so far. She bowled with an economy rate of over nine taking four wickets in five matches.
Phoebe Litchfield: Phoebe Litchfield has been very inconsistent with the bat where she had an average of just 15.00 in WPL 2025. Her highest score this season in 30 runs.
Parunika Sisodia: Playing her first season for Mumbai Indians, Parunika Sisodia has only taken just one wicket in five matches so far and is unlikely to get a chance in the playing XI in the eliminator against Gujarat Giants.
