Royal Challengers Bengaluru were handed their first defeat in IPL 2025 after Gujarat Titans won the match number 14 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium by eight wickets. After defeating Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens and Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk respectively, RCB couldn’t continue their winning run playing their first home game of the season.
Talking about the match, batting first, RCB had a poor start as they lost Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Devdutt and Phil Salt within seven overs. However, Liam Livingstone came up with his first fifty of the season and scored 54(40) runs while TIm David also contributed 32(18) as RCB were able to reach 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets. However, the target of 170 runs wasn’t enough in front of batting lineup including Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Butlter.
Chasing the winning target, Sai Sudharsan continued his great form in IPL 2025 and scored 49(36) runs. After that, Jos Buttler scored a match-winning 73*(39) runs hitting five fours and six sixes as GT chased the target in 17.5 overs losing two wickets. Sherfan Rutherford also contributed with an unbeaten 30*(18) runs. After the match, the fans came up with different reaction and hilarious memes on social media.
