SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: TOSS!
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer wins toss, opts to bat vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: PITCH REPORT
Atmospherically, it is okay, doesn’t feel too hot and that’s a good thing, the players will feel good about that. Normally it is steamy here. Playing dimensions are small and smaller, 63 and 69m square boundaries, 77m straight. It’s good to be a batsman.
The only bit of grass is here behind the stumps, it’s an absolute belter, it looks beautiful and it’s going to play well. I think you’re looking at 220-230 par score. Ideally, win the toss and bat for 40 overs – well that’s not in the rules.
It’s the notorious pitch no. 2 where 211 is the par score. We haven’t seen too much dew here, the toss doesn’t play too big a part. Pristine conditions

SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: ‘SRH to bat a bit longer’
Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has backed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to make a turnaround in their fortunes in IPL 2025, adding that someone has to step up for them and bat for a longer period if they are to move up from the bottom of the points table.
SRH have lost four successive games in IPL 2025 and are at the bottom of the points table with just one win against their name. The Pat Cummins-led side needs their famed batting line-up and bowling to click against an in-form Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a crucial Saturday evening clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
“Cummins and company are due, that’s for sure. I can’t believe Sunrisers Hyderabad are at the bottom of the table – that’s unbelievable. There’s been a lot of talk about the 300-run game, but I’d like to think that’s behind them now.”
“They should be focused on just winning the next game. They’ve got a really good team and will continue with their aggressive approach. But if the moment calls for someone to steady the innings and bat a bit longer, hopefully someone will step up.”
“You’d expect they’ve learned from their earlier mistakes. They’re just too good a team to be sitting at the bottom. I really believe Pat Cummins and his side will turn it around this time,” said Clarke on JioStar.
SRH have a strong 16-7 head-to-head record against PBKS and have won four out of their last five meetings since 2022. At their home turf, SRH have lost only once out of nine times against PBKS. All of this should serve as a big boost to SRH in their quest to turn things around before they miss the bus for the IPL 2025 playoffs qualification.
SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: Nehal Wadhera eyes breakthrough
Nehal Wadhera is all set to begin a fresh chapter in his IPL journey—this time donning the colours of his home franchise, Punjab Kings (PBKS). The left-handed batter, who made an impression with his potential in earlier seasons, is embracing the chance to represent Punjab with renewed energy and ambition.
“This year, I’ve joined Punjab Kings, and I’m really looking forward to playing for my home team,” Wadhera said in a conversation on JioHotstar.
“Representing your home side is a special feeling for any player. When I was picked by Punjab Kings, it felt amazing–I was truly emotional,” he added.
Now in his third IPL season, the 23-year-old is aiming to convert promise into performance and establish himself as a key player.
“I’m eager to contribute and help Punjab Kings lift the trophy this season,” he added. “In the last two IPL seasons, I’ve focused on improving my weak areas–working specifically on the shots and deliveries that troubled me. My aim is to find more success this year and hopefully make this a breakthrough season,” he said.
Wadhera’s strong domestic form has further boosted his confidence. He hopes to carry that momentum into the IPL and deliver consistently.
“We qualified for the domestic season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Punjab team performed really well. My preparation was solid, and overall, it was a good domestic season for me.”
Having featured in the IPL over the last two years, Wadhera says the experience has played a key role in his development.
“I’ve spent the last two years in the IPL, and they’ve been valuable for my growth,” Wadhera said.
“This year, my expectations remain aligned with my role–it’s about stepping up for the team in tough and crunch situations, and helping us move forward,” he added.
With a composed mindset and an aggressive batting style, Wadhera has had a solid start to IPL 2025. In three matches so far, he has scored 114 runs at an average of 57 and a strike rate of 156.16, including a blistering 62 against Rajasthan Royals.
Punjab Kings are currently placed fourth on the IPL 2025 points table with three wins from four matches. Their next challenge will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.

SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: Batting and bowling!
While the batting woes have dominated headlines, SRH’s bowling has offered little relief. The pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mohammed Shami, and Harshal Patel has struggled to make early breakthroughs, and the lack of impact continues through the middle overs, with the bowlers failing to apply pressure or claim key wickets.
In contrast, Punjab Kings are riding high on momentum under the fresh leadership of Shreyas Iyer. The stylish right-hander has led by example with the bat and shown sharp tactical acumen, guiding PBKS to three wins in four games. They currently sit fourth on the table.
A major talking point for Punjab has been the emergence of young opener Priyansh Arya. The rookie stole the limelight with a stunning century against Chennai Super Kings, on a day when most batters found the going tough.
The bowling unit, too, has impressed. Arshdeep Singh, Lockie Ferguson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Marco Jansen have all contributed consistently, offering both variety and control.
SRH vs PBKS Live Score, IPL 2025: Hello and welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Live coverage of IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.
Desperate to halt their alarming slide, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping to script a turnaround when they host an in-form Punjab Kings outfit in their upcoming IPL 2025 clash on Saturday.
Last season’s finalists, SRH started the current campaign with a bang—blasting 286 to flatten Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs. The ‘Orange Army’ looked all set to become the first team to breach the 300-run mark in IPL history, thanks to their ultra-aggressive batting philosophy.
However, that very approach has begun to unravel. In their last three outings, SRH have managed sub-par scores of 163, 120, and 152—each resulting in heavy defeats. As a result, they find themselves at the bottom of the points table with the worst Net Run Rate in the competition: -1.629.
The batting department, touted as one of the most explosive in the tournament, has failed to fire. Big names like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen have all underperformed.
Head and Sharma, who were instrumental in providing flying starts last season, have struggled to find rhythm. The duo’s best opening stand this season is a mere 15. Head’s form has tapered off, with scores of 67, 47, 22, 4, and 8. Abhishek hasn’t fared much better, with a top score of just 24 in five innings.
Kishan, who lit up the opening match with an unbeaten century, has looked far from his best since then, while Klaasen—SRH’s middle-order pillar—is yet to make a meaningful contribution.
Despite the poor returns, the team remains committed to its fearless approach. Head coach Daniel Vettori made it clear that the philosophy isn’t the problem—it’s the execution.
