Heinrich Klaasen (26 off 17) and Aniket Verma (36 off 13) made some contributions, but SRH only managed a score of 190-9 in the first innings. Shardul Thakur picked up 4/34 in the first innings. It was never going to be enough, and Nicholas Pooran slammed an 18-ball fifty and scored 60 off just 26 balls. Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31) scored his second consecutive fifty, and LSG reached 193/5 in 16.1 overs to win their first game of the season.

There were two players who performed exceptionally well for LSG. Shardul Thakur and Nicholas Pooran. But it was Pooran, who earned the most fantasy points in the game. He earned 156 points after his blistering fifty to win the Fantasy Player of the Match award.
There were 23 sixes hit in the game. SRH hit 12 while LSG hit 11. Aniket Verma hit five sixes in his innings, but Pooran went past him and slammed six maximums in his 26-ball 70-run knock to win the Angel One Super Sixes of the Match award.
Pooran hit six sixes and six fours in his knock. But there was someone who overpowered him in terms of hitting fours. Mitchell Marsh played a great knock of 52 off 31 balls and hit 7 fours and two sixes. He hit most fours in his knock and won the Rupay On-the-Go Four of the Match award.

Eventually, it is about the best performer of the game. Nicholas Pooran made it a simple chase for LSG with his power hitting, but Shardul Thakur helped them restrict a strong SRH batting unit to a below-par total with his 4/34. It was also his best bowling figure in the IPL. Hence, Shardul Thakur won the Player of the Match award.
