Kulkarni had demanded two days ago to rename Pune Railway Station after Bajirao Peshwa. Meanwhile, after this demand, there was strong criticism from different sections of society, which sparked a banner war over the demand to rename Pune Railway Station. Banners were put up at various places in Pune by the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party against Medha Kulkarni. Apart from various locations in Pune, a banner was put up near Shaniwarwada saying, “If you are so keen on changing the names, then rename Budhwar Peth as Mastani Peth.”
After the backlash, the posters were removed.

Meanwhile in other news, BJP leader Pramod Kondhare still remains unarrested after he was booked for allegedly sexually harassing a senior female police officer in broad day light in a crowd. The incident was caught on CCTV released by Police.
The molestation incident reportedly occurred near the venue of a programme attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday, where multiple BJP leaders had assembled.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 74 (assault or use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 75 (sexual harassment).
Reacting to the incident, BJP City President Dheeraj Ghate stated, “After the incident came to light, we spoke to Pramod Kondhare.
