EDGES and almost carries! Rohit with a nervy start, defends outside off but the movement takes the shoulder of the blade, falls short of first slip. A full toss to follow, clips it to deep square, gets two runs.
SIX! Back-of-a-length from Bhuvneshwar, sets up nicely for Rohit, who pulls it over square leg. Rohit cuts the fifth, gets to deep backward point, one run.
Rickelton for his first delivery. FOUR! Just pushes this length ball through mid on, the fielder dives but the ball beats him.
Virat Kohli reckons this wicket is not as straightforward to bat on as it looked during the first innings. It was attack from ball one from RCB. It was set up by Kohli’s half-century, his second of the season, and consolidated upon by Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma, both striking at a rate of 200 or more.
This will be the highest run chase at Wankhede if MI is to get there. It would be most welcome for a team that is desparate to turn around its fortunes.

FOUR! Devdutt Padikkal gets the first delivery wide of off, leans into the drive and picks the gap at covers. BEATEN! Movement away from the left-hander, goes past the edge.
RCB’s opening batters are the side’s highest scorers this season. If the visitor is to set a commanding total here, the duo will need to play a stead hand at the top.
The left-arm pacer Ashwani Kumar has had to make room for Jasprit Bumrah in MI’s starting XI. He had impressed with a four-fer on his debut against KKR, then following up with another couple of wickets against LSG. But such is IPL that there are limited chances for players, despite strong performances.

For nearly a decade, he has been the go-to saviour, whether for India or Mumbai Indians. No surprise then that with Jasprit Bumrah sidelined for the first fortnight of IPL 2025, MI has struggled to find its rhythm.
His return to the squad on Saturday provided an immediate morale boost. Even at partial intensity, his brief spell at Rohit Sharma in the nets lifted spirits in the MI camp. Rohit, who missed the last game after taking a blow to his knee, is set to return for Monday’s marquee clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
