Meghan Markle's latest Netflix venture, a show where the Duchess of Sussex shares her entertaining tips, barely mentions Prince Harry. Insiders who've had a sneak peek at With Love, Meghan – likely the final project in Meghan and Harry's $100million deal with Netflix – suggest it continues the couple's trend of "brand separation."
The Duke and Duchess confessed in November that they're at a "crossroads" in their careers, and insiders believe With Love, Meghan – a guide to entertaining – further emphasizes this. Neither Harry nor their children, Archie and Lilibet, feature prominently in Meghan's new series.
A source revealed: "Harry isn't in it. It's all her, and all about her. It's very watchable."
Instead of family, Meghan invites special guests, including actress Mindy Kaling, fashion designer Tracy Robbins, and Delfina Blaquier – wife of Harry's best friend, polo player Nacho Figueras. Initially thought to be a cooking show featuring Meghan's recipes, the eight-part series, premiering on March 4, is reportedly more focused on hosting and inspiring those looking to impress friends and family.
A source revealed to Mail Online: "There is no point at which Meghan says 'take 200 grams of flour' or anything like that… It's a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a how-to cookery show. It's about inspiration – more like, 'Why not try and make this kind of pasta or this kind of dessert,'" reports the Mirror.
The launch of the series was initially set for January 15, but Meghan, residing with Harry in Montecito, California, decided it would be insensitive to air it shortly after the LA wildfires erupted. She expressed her gratitude last month: "I'm thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state."
However, it's now full steam ahead as Archewell – the production company she founded with Harry – along with the Intellectual Property Corporation, a subsidiary of Sony, begin circulating promotional content to pique audience interest. The advertising copy encourages: "Create wonder in every moment."
Netflix describes the show as a mix of "blends practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old." The streaming service further details: "Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."
Ms Blaquier, a guest star, and her husband were also part of the Netflix show POLO, produced by Prince Harry. Despite its December release, the show was met with unfavorable reviews.
