In this series of images, discover the identity of the well-known host who, during a live IPL broadcast, forgot and failed to recall the name of the Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar while introducing him.
A video featuring an actor, also known for his work as a host and anchor, is circulating on social media. In the video, he reflects on his experience of hosting the IPL during its first season in 2008.
The actor-host recalled a moment during a live IPL broadcast when, while praising Shoaib Akhtar and using well-known phrases, he suddenly froze and couldn’t remember the cricketer’s name.
The actor-host in question is Vishal Malhotra, who appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in the film Ishq Vishk. The popular video comes from his YouTube series The Vishal Show, where he was conversing with film critic and trade expert Komal Nahta.
“Main IPL host kar raha tha or ye live thi, Eden Gardens mein match tha. Woh pehla IPL tha jahan par Shoaib Akhtar pehla match khelne wale the, toh maine unhe dhamakedaar introduction diya. Rawalpindi Express, India-Pakistan friendship and ofcourse I don’t need to say his name. His name is and I went blank,” Vishal said recalling the incident.
Vishal Malhotra is a well-known actor who gained recognition through numerous TV series before transitioning to movies. He made his film debut in 2003 with Ishq Vishk.
Some of his notable films include Kismat Konnection, Jannat, Talaash, Happy New Year and Anjaana Anjaani.
