The Maharashtra Right to Education (RTE) admission lottery results for the 2025 academic session have been announced today, February 14, 2025. Parents who applied under the 25% reservation quota for economically weaker and disadvantaged groups will receive SMS notifications on their registered mobile numbers regarding their child’s admission status.
As per official data, Pune district received 61,687 applications for just 18,507 seats across 960 schools, highlighting the intense competition for RTE admissions. The Directorate of Primary Education manages the RTE admission process, which enables eligible students to receive free education in private schools.
To ensure access to quality education for underprivileged children, the Maharashtra government reimburses private schools for the admitted students’ fees. For the 2025-26 academic year, a total of 1,09,111 seats have been allocated across 8,863 private schools, with 3,05,161 students applying for admission—demonstrating the high demand for this initiative.
