The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League 2025, which runs from March 22 to May 25, is already off to a blazing start with exhilarating action and power-packed performance. Led by Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad sit at top of the IPL points table after registering an exemplary win against Rajasthan Royals in a record-breaking contest on 23 March, 2025.
Ishan Kishan’s maiden IPL ton had helped his team SRH to score 286/6 in 20 overs and also earned them a net run rate of +2.200. With Rachin Ravindra’s classic 65 runs knock, season’s favourite Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to register a win again Mumbai Indians (MI) by 4 wickets in a close match held at Chepauk. Mumbai Indian’s Vignesh Puthur also grabbed the eyeballs with 3-wicket haul for his team. Following the win, Ruturaj Gaikwad led-CSK team stands third at the IPL points table.
After chasing 175 runs in 16.2 overs in the opening match of Indian Premier League, Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening match of the cash-rich league and stand at second in the IPL points table with a net run rate of +2.137.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians find themselves at fourth spot from bottom with NRR of -0.493 after registering a loss against Chennai where CSK managed to register a win with 5 balls remaining.
After heavy rout at the IPL matches, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are placed at the bottom of the points table of the IPL where the former was outclassed by RCB and the latter were destroyed by SRH’s batting onslaught. KKR net run rate stands at -2.137 whereas Rajasthan royals put up a net run rate of -2.200 following the current matches.
While Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings are yet to take to the field, the points table is all set to take up more alterations in the coming matches and it will be exciting to see who moved up the table and who slipped down the ladder in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025.
