Goa CM denies live Gambling in Onshore Casinos, assures regular inspections – G2G News

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has alleged that live gambling is taking place in onshore casinos in Goa, raising concerns over regulatory enforcement.
According to a report by Herald goa, Alemao claimed that these casinos are operating beyond legal limits, which could undermine the state’s regulatory efforts. He urged authorities to take strict action to prevent any illegal activities. “The government must ensure strict enforcement of laws to maintain transparency in the gambling industry,” Alemao stated.
Responding to these allegations, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant dismissed the claims and assured that onshore casinos undergo regular inspections to ensure compliance. “The government conducts routine inspections, and any casino violating norms will face strict action, including license suspension,” Sawant said.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding legal standards within the casino industry. “We are dedicated to ensuring transparency and strict regulation of gambling operations in Goa,” the CM added.
The allegations have sparked discussions about the enforcement of gambling regulations in the state. As casino operations remain under scrutiny, authorities continue to monitor the industry closely to prevent unlawful activities.
