After raising its fees in the U.S., Canada, Argentina and Portugal in January, streaming giant Netflix has now turned its attention to the UK, with many more countries expected to follow soon.

The new UK price for a Standard subscription without adverts, has risen by £2 to £12.99 a month.

In the United States, the Premium package, which shows some content in UHD 4K and allows four devices to stream at the same time, costs $24.99 – or $300 a year.

Netflix has witnessed a huge increase in customers thanks to a second season of Squid Game and the expansion of its sports coverage – it streamed two NFL games on Christmas Day and hosted a popular boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
