The Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT), the country`s only running live tournament series, is back and bigger than ever! It’s returned in a brand-new avatar as the DPT Grand and is taking place at the luxurious Casino Deltin Royale in Goa. This is the 17th edition of the DPT and the third this year, following the DPT May Edition and the DPT Xpress in July. With 15 tournaments, five DPT bracelets up for grabs, and a whole week of non-stop poker action, this is the most extensive DPT festival yet!
The series kicked off yesterday with two headline events: the Day 2 finale of the ₹11K DPT Grand Rush and the ₹40K Mystery Bounty, and the action was electric!
Sagar Raj Takes Down the DPT Grand Rush and Wins the First DPT Bracelet!
Sagar Raj was the star of the show on the opening day, winning Event #1: ₹11K DPT Grand Rush for a career-best ₹18.31 Lakhs! This was Raj’s first-ever live title, and it came after a tough battle against a field of 96 players who had qualified from online starting flights on Adda52.com. With a buy-in of ₹11,000, the event drew a crowd of 840 entries in the online leg from October 10 to 13. This victory is extra sweet for Raj, who narrowly missed out on a title at the DPT May 2024 ₹35K Mini High Roller.
But this win is even more impressive when you consider Raj’s incredible online success this year. He’s been crushing the virtual felts, racking up over ₹2.50 Crores in tournament winnings and climbing to #16 on the fiercely competitive Player of the Year race.
And to make the victory even sweeter, Raj also won the first of five coveted DPT bracelets! These bracelets, awarded for the first time in DPT history, are inspired by the prestigious WSOP bracelets and add an extra layer of prestige to the already exciting inaugural series.
Raj’s heads-up opponent, Ramji Kishore G, also had a great run, finishing runner-up for a career-best ₹13 Lakhs. Kishore is an experienced online regular with four cashes in the DPT May 2024 edition, and he proved that he can hold his own against the best in the live arena as well.
This win was Raj’s fourth live cash and his second in 2024, bringing his lifetime live earnings to over ₹30 Lakhs. Kishore, who’s done well himself this year, now has five live cashes and over ₹16 Lakhs in tracked live winnings.
Mystery Bounty Madness
Event #2: ₹40K Mystery Bounty also drew a big crowd, with 137 entries. After 15 intense 30-minute levels, 27 players bagged their chips for Day 2. Leading the pack is Ashwin Vijayvergiya, our newest Young Gun, with a massive stack of 276,000 chips (46 BBs). Kishore Kumar (272,000 – 45 BBs) and Basant Singh (204,000 – 34 BBs) are hot on his heels, setting the stage for what promises to be an action-packed Day 2, which got underway at 1 PM today.
