The voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 concluded on February 5 with an overall voter turnout of 60.39%. The highest voter turnout was in Mustafabad (69%). Lowest was in Karol Bagh (47.40%).
“Congress has scored a double hat-trick of scoring zero; they are giving themselves gold medal of defeat,” Prime Minister Modi said at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
“No one is ready to trust Congress; it sinks and also harms its allies. Congress steals issues of its allies and attempts to appropriate their vote banks. Congress has stolen issues of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, DMK in Tamil Nadu, RJD in Bihar. Congress also tried to appropriate BJP vote bank by making rounds of temples but stopped when it realised they are not succeeding,” Mr. Modi added.
Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party, Mr. Modi said, “A party (AAP) that was born out of anti-corruption agitation turned out to be the most corrupt.”
Mr. Modi also guaranteed that a CAG report on the AAP government would be placed in the first session of the new Delhi Assembly.
“Those who hatched conspiracies to hide their scams will have to repay, this is Modi’s guarantee,” he said.
“Wherever NDA has come to power, we have reached heights of development. That’s why BJP is winning continuously. We have returned to power in Uttarakhand, Haryana, UP, MP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and every other state,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
“For the first time since Independence, BJP will now have governments in Delhi and all adjoining states,” he said.
Talking about BJP’s governance, Mr. Modi said, “UP is in neighbour of Delhi. Once, the law and order was a huge challenge in Uttar Pradesh, especially for the women. However, we had taken a resolve to solve this issue. Similarly in Maharashtra, farmers used to face a huge challenge because of droughts. However, our government provided them with water, thanks to Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan.”
Taking a dig at Aam Aadmi PArty, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the BJP headquarters said that Delhi has voted against the “politics of agitation”.
“Delhi has voted against politics of strikes and agitations, old regime stalled several welfare schemes of the Centre. Governance is not a stage for theatrics and propaganda,” he said.
“I want to thank the people of Delhi, they have given us immense love today. I want to reassure the people of Delhi, that the love you have given us, we will return it in the form of development,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the BJP HQs in Delhi.
“This love from the people of Delhi on us, is a burden that we will return through work. Thank you for choosing us,” Mr. Modi said.
“Delhi’s mandate makes it clear that there are no shortcuts in politics. People have done a short circuit of politics of shortcuts,” PM Modi added.
“I regret not having had opportunity to serve Delhi, now you have given me that opportunity,” he added.
On BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly Election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, “I thank the people of Delhi. Delhi has given us love wholeheartedly and I once again assure the people that we will return you double the love in the form of development…”
“People of Delhi are filled with enthusiasm today. They are also relieved because Delhi is now free of ‘AAP-da’. I had sent a letter to Delhiites in which I urged them to give BJP a chance to serve them in the 21st century and to make Delhi ‘viksit’ (developed) capital of India,” he added.
“Today, at this historic moment, I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of all the party workers of BJP. The BJP has been victorious one after the other under the leadership of PM Modi,” says BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda on party’s victory in Delhi Assembly Election.
“In the Lok Sabha, the people of Delhi made BJP win all 7 seats and in this assembly election you made us win 48 seats, the message is clear – Modi is in the heart of Delhi,” he added.

Amid a harrowing defeat for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections, incumbent Chief Minister Atishi has retained her Kalkaji seat, defeating her challenger Ramesh Bhidhuri of the Bharatiya Janata Party. But she is part of a minority, in more ways than one: women’s representation is poised to remain low during the upcoming term, with only five women having won seats. This is even as marginally more women voters turned out to vote than male voters.

BJP poised to retake Delhi from AAP, potential CM contenders include Parvesh Verma, Vijender Gupta, Kailash Gahlot, and Manoj Tiwari.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh says the results are “nothing more than a referendum on Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party”.
“After all, at the height of the PM’s popularity in 2015 and 2020, AAP had won decisively in Delhi. This shows that, rather than being vindication of the policies of the PM, this vote is a rejection of Arvind Kejriwal’s politics of deceit, deception, and vastly exaggerated claims of achievement,” Mr. Ramesh says.
He says the Congress took the lead in “highlighting the various scams that have occurred under Arvind Kejriwal and voters have pronounced their judgement on his twelve years of misrule”.
“The Congress was expecting to do better. It has, however, increased its vote share. The campaign of the Congress was vigorous. It may not be in the Assembly but it is definitely a presence in Delhi, a presence that will be expanded electorally with the sustained efforts of lakhs of Congress workers. There will be a Congress Govt once again in Delhi in 2030,” he adds.
