10 cars up for grabs at Quepem Ganesh

When there were as many as 10 cars for grabs, thousands rushed to buy the lottery coupons of Sarvajanik Ganesh Ustav Mandal, Quepem, since Sunday.
Ten different cars to be awarded in the unique lottery of the Sarvajanik Ganesh Ustav Mandal, Quepem, are on display at Quepem Municipal Garden Square.
The 10 prizes consist of Volkswagen Jetta (first), Premier Ric (second), Hyundai i20 Era (third), Maruti Swift (fourth), Maruti Ritz (fifth), Chevrolet Beat (sixth), Maruti WagonR (seventh), Maruti Zen Estillo (eighth), Maruti Eeco (ninth) and Chevrolet Spark (tenth).
This year, the Mandal has put up 80,000 lottery coupons for sale. While the venue drew a number of curious onlookers, the lotteries were being sold like hot cakes.
According to sources, more than 50% of the tickets were already sold out, barely two days after the lotteries were officially inaugurated by Quepem MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar on August 1.
There was a heavy rush to buy lottery coupons at the counter and people were seen in long queues to buy the limited edition of the prized ticket, priced at Rs 100.
The organizers had made provision of ‘Queue System’ to avoid rush, as it happened last year.
